Below you will find a description of the resources available at the Department of Biology.
If you need help with your computer or any other IT related matter, contact the department helpdesk by emailing us at helpdesk [at] biol [dot] lu [dot] se. NB! You can only email us using your biol-email address. Another way to reach the helpdesk is to visit the website at helpdesk.biol.lu.se, log in using your LUCAT identity (without the @lu.se) and then fill in a form.
Software is available through the software managers in our IT group at the department. Please, contact helpdesk [at] biol [dot] lu [dot] se. You can find information about LU software agreements on LDC Programförmedlingen
Purchase of IT equipment
Contact helpdesk [at] biol [dot] lu [dot] se for assistance with purchase and installation.
At the department, we have these mailing lists:
- Anslagstavlan (staff at the department + other interested people associated with biology, all may post to the list)
- Biologi (personnel at the department, only the administration can post)
- Biologistudent (students at the department)
The units and some research groups have their own lists. You are added automatically to the lists, depending of your role in LUCAT. Contact Anders Kullberg if you have questions about the mailing lists.
LUCAT is the LU online staff directory, containing basic information about you as an employee, including title, telephone number, location, personal website, etc. This information is also used in other systems to facilitate for others who wish to contact you. Therefore, make sure that the information in LUCAT is updated, at ‘LUCAT for employees’.
You can change your LUCAT password in the password portal. The password must be a minimum of 8 characters, and must combine characters from 3 out of 4 groups (lower case letters, upper case letters, numbers and/or special characters).
Note that when you change your password it will also change your login to other systems in which you use your LUCAT identity (the administrative portal, email, webmail, wireless networks, etc.).
